Given the current quarantine, many of us are spending more time with the family than ever before. For some, new work-from-home arrangements feed into their stress.
Given the current quarantine, many of us are spending more time with the family than ever before. For some, new work-from-home arrangements feed into their stress. That said, there is one constant we can return to that positively contributes to our health and well-being — home cooking! The team at Vitality Weight Loss Institute is here to help you find a balance and stay healthy — let’s take a look:
Meal Planning
Rather than placing another fast-food order for dinner, consider changing it up with meal prepping. Meal prepping involves spending a few hours preparing meals for the following week, cooking more substantial quantities, and portioning them out to quickly heat up dinner the next few days when you’re ready to eat.
Break Out Your Forgotten Kitchen Tools
Remember that juicer you bought a year ago that’s now collecting dust? What about that vegetable spiralizer you got in a gift bag that you forgot all about? Is that pasta maker still in the cabinet? Give these things a go! Or, consider graduating to or investing in something more substantial; Crock-Pot, cast iron pan, air fryers, and more! Now is an excellent time to experiment with some gadgets and tools that you may have otherwise felt too rushed or unmotivated to use.
Include The Family
Ordering delivery may seem like an incredibly convenient option, especially if you have kids in the house. After all, everyone can get exactly what they want, there’s not a lot to clean up — the list goes on. However, if you turn the idea of “cooking” from a chore into an activity that the whole family can participate in, you’ll be able to stick to a healthy diet, save some money, and spend quality time with your loved ones. You can have one family member chop up the vegetables and fruits while another watches the pan. The next time you’re all in the kitchen preparing food, switch these sorts of duties up (within reason, of course)!
